Levels
of service...
...the
work that we do falls into 3 basic
categories...

Level
I... relatively small amounts of
work - crop, repair minor scratches,
marks or blemishes on the background;
adjust brightness, contrast &
colour balance
-
Level
II... as Level I + repair
damaged edges & corners, creases
and lines in the background and minor
marks and blemishes on the subject not
requiring extensive rebuilding;
convert black & white photographs
to sepia tone; convert colour
photographs to black & white or
sepia tone
-
Specialist...
as Level II + repair to more
significant damage; remove or add
objects; join photographs; replace
backgrounds; other specified and
agreed work

Handling...
...we
handle your photos, negatives or
transparencies with great care and the
processes we use
do not damage, affect or alter them in any
way whatsoever - the scanning
process is rather like photocopying
and does not therefore affect the original

Packaging...
...great
care must be taken when dispatching
photographs to us so that they do
not suffer damage of any kind. Our
suggestions are as follows...
|
| ...place the
photograph(s) between 2 pieces of
strong cardboard, medium density
fibreboard (mdf) or hardboard
(smooth side towards the photo).
The board needs to be bigger than
the photo(s), preferably by a
minimum of 1cm (½ inch) on all
sides making the board 2cm/1"
both wider and taller overall than
the photo, as
in the drawing... |

...then
tape all four sides together. Place
this in a waterproof packet and
seal. Finally place the whole
package in an envelope and clearly
PRINT both your address and ours
before posting... |

known to be protected by copyright
In general terms, the person who takes
the photograph owns the copyright and
usually this permission is freely given
However, if the photograph was taken by a
professional photographer or photographic
studio, you must obtain their written
permission before we are able to proceed
